We would install many programs in Windows 7, for which Start menu begins to fall short.
How do I fix it? The obvious choice is to remove those shortcuts that no longer serve us. We can do this by selecting the Delete option when right-clicking on a file or folder.
To avoid having to delete all the shortcuts on the Programs menu, we can make the Start menu size larger. This is possible by increasing the number of recent programs that are listed.
To do this, right click the taskbar and select Properties. In the window that just opened select the Start Menu tab and click the Customize button. At the bottom you can adjust the number of recent programs to display.
In this way we can have a start menu of acceptable size and display its contents in full.
