Apple’s Mac OS X basically based on the oldest Operating System UNIX core. UNIX itself is celebrating 40 years this year, 2011. Kernel wise, Mac OS X is rock stable. In this article, we will highlight the most popular features of Mac OS X.
There are various features of Mac those are very popular and very user friendly. This are only few among them.
Mac’s Finder
Finder is very quick and easily accessible to find files, programs, meaning of any word etc
Spotlight
Spotlight highlights anything you searching for by keeping others in translucent dark and the searched item in light. It can be turned on or off for integration with other programs and features.
Translucent menus
The trnaslucent menus looks great with Mac’s minimalistic design:
Labeling of files with any color
This is very nifty feature. You can label any file with any color you want on right click:

Stack
Stack comes in three flavors (can be configured from right click menu) : Fan, Grid and List ; on left click on dock the stack appears as you have configured it. Right click shows a menu similar to list.

Just like iPhone’s albums; you can activate the look in Mac; just flick to browse the files:

Customize the sticky notes as you like; on the right click and selecting text find it in Google directly:

Clean buttons and check boxes
Button and check boxes are real eye candy of of Mac OS X. In inactive state they turns gray scale; when active turns blue. The default button blinks very nicely.
