It is likely that too often neglect the sidebar of the WordPress blog (or other platform like Blogger) though is one of the hot spots. In more than one occasion we have been in the position where we went to a blog and not be able to find anything that interested us simply because we found nothing informational in the sidebar.

Because we use it often when to find what we want and usually gives great results. It should be top of any other
widgets, if search on the side of header or navigation bar is not available (see our navigation pane).
Archives
May not be necessary but people usually when a blog browse without seeking anything specific, for example just a simple title that caught his / her attention. Moreover, for the search engines it is a good site map. A good Navigation serves the purpose too.

Not mandatory to include it in the sidebar but it might be useful for the first visitors, to further promote your most popular posts because if readers have decided to read which are the most interesting.

To build relationships, to interact beyond the comments, so you will get ideas, objective criticism, questions, suggestions. Must it placed if can not be placed in the footer or elsewhere.
