Virtualization is a hardware support that facilitates to run multiple operating systems on one computer. Virtualization is useful as a hardware system is never fully utilized.

There are different types of Virtualizations. Generally by the word Virtualization we mean Processor level virtualization.

Reasons for using virtualization

The most important feature of virtualization is the reliability. At a glance, virtualization seems to be something only for servers. But even normal users can get benefit. For example, two operating systems for working on one computer. The most used is only connected with the Internet. If one operating system gets infected, then other can be used to clean. System Critical Computers can not be restarted, that is why dual boot is not a good option there.

Virtualization developed as software level. With multi core processors and virtualization support from the processor, we can easily deploy hardware virtualization.
