Computational Intelligence : Brief Introduction

Computational Intelligence (CI) is a field of artificial intelligence we have discussed before. Computational Intelligence includes three disciplines of biologically motivated information processing together. Computational Intelligence is basically based on algorithms of fuzzy logic, artificial neural networks and evolutionary computational algorithms. In this article we will go through a rapid look on Computational Intelligence.

Basics of Computational Intelligence

All these disciplines behind Computational Intelligence, have some factors common in them – they make biological mechanisms capable of problem solving strategies for mathematical or technical issues, without the need to model the systems themselves correctly. These serve more as a source of inspiration – Do as you work.

Between the fields behind Computational Intelligence there are often synergies : Thus, for example, evolutionary computational algorithms are often used for the design of artificial neural networks and fuzzy systems. Another example is the so-called neuro fuzzy systems can be represented without loss of information either as a fuzzy system or artificial neural network. Thus it can be shown as part of a fuzzy system in a comprehensible form, on the other hand, the powerful learning algorithms of artificial neural networks can be used.

Current status of Computational Intelligence

Unlike mind uploading, which is practically limited within two digit numbered research workers, Computational Intelligence in now among syllabus of many universities, Computational Intelligence is in their master’s degree classes. Several scientific organizations arrange events on Computational Intelligence. Internationally, Computational Intelligence Society is active, Computational Intelligence is a part of the IEEE .

Your curious mind might be thoughtful, why Computational Intelligence is made a new terminology, as basic is dependent on other threes ? The first thing is, Science works dependently. There is very little difference in some topics of Physical Chemistry and Physics. Secondly, Computational Intelligence not only encapsulates the Laws (not the hypotheses which needs to be established) but also encircles Genetic algorithm, Swarm Intelligence etc. topics.

Computational Intelligence is the methodical approach to individual living creature’s cognitive mimicking by machines.

In other words, I have attained that level to give my own hypothesis on any science that Computational Intelligence is dependent on. As I have said, the number of research workers are in two digit figures (because there is no money), I will shout with others and will successfully establish it. But the hypothesis might be wrong and conflicting (recall my writings on Mind Uploading). In order to create intelligent slaves; (basically, think carefully, you read Newton’s Principles to get a degree and do a job, in most cases Newton’s Principles has nothing to do with the job) we need a methodical way. Computational Intelligence serves that purpose.
