You can install and Run Shadows Rising RPG Game on Rackspace Cloud Sites as on a subfolder, a subdomain or on the domain. In our example, we will install and Run Shadows Rising RPG Game on a subdomain because we want the load-balancers can effectively distribute the computing power. Nothing is needed but few :

• A secured SFTP client like WinSCP for Windows PC
• Rackspace Cloud Sites account
• Any good text editor
• And most importantly, download the game Shadows Rising from SourceForge.

Steps to Install and Run Shadows Rising RPG Game on Rackspace Cloud Sites

As we are creating a subdomain, there are some extra steps. Login to your Rackspace Cloud Sites account and click to expand the Hosting list on left hand sided column and click Cloud Sites :

Click the “Add A Site” Button. Add as any listed website’s subdomain, in this example we will name it as :

shadowsrising.thecustomizewindows.com

The next steps are wizard based and like adding any website on Cloud Sites, just add any plan, make sure to keep :

•  Microsoft SQL Server Storage  : Off
•  Databases  : 1 to unlimited. Just make sure that there is one database, at least.
•  Technology : Linux / Apache / PHP 5.3

Finish it with $0.00 bill. Go to the features tab and click Add to add a database. Open your text editor like notepad and copy paste the details of database.

By this time the subdomain should be ready and will show the default webpage. Open SFTP client and login. Browse to the directory of named subdomain and go to the content directory, in our case :

/shadowsrising.thecustomizewindows.com/web/content

There will be an index.html file. Delete it. On the left hand pane, if you are using WinSCP, browse to the place on your computer where you have downloaded Shadows Rising Package, uncompress within WinSCP and go in the uncompressed folder and drag and drop all the contents to your /web/content/ directory on the right hand side :

Point your browser to install.php file :

http://shadowsrising.thecustomizewindows.com/install.php

You will get a table like form to fill :
