Besides the two classical disciplines of textual and pictorial journalism, it is an independent journalistic representation that information visually processed. Infographic is used greatly in Public Health. For example, I want to make a sweepers community understand about a particular disease and how to prevent it. My 1000 words article will fail to convey the message to this less educated community. Furthermore, I might not go there to explain it, a Health Worker can do the work. Infographic has a biggest advantage – cross questions are less likely to be asked by the audience and Frequently Asked Questions completes the work along with the Infographic of my  1000 words article. Furthermore, I can think of creating another infographic on another disease using that time.

But Infographic will fail where the audience is of high intelligence level and of same discipline. If the person already knows about the topic in details, Infographic will just work as an reminder. That is why slide show or presentation is used  instead of Infographic, which is a complex infographic along with more texts.

Using Infographic in marketing is in the same way more effective than a video. It is expected that I will know less about Shoe Polishing Wax. If a  Shoe Polishing Wax manufacturer nicely creates an Infographic that Shoe Polish Wax can extend my shoes life to 500 times more (take that it is true), I will develop positive impression on that brand. So, to an intelligent person, Infographic can push a product quite effectively using real data.
