Hello to you all. We talk regularly with web players (managers or representatives of companies, bloggers, consultants, as passionate, etc..), And we realize that they all have more or less all the same problem: despite their efforts to try to exist on Twitter, they come very rarely lead to visibility which is satisfactory to them with their profile (s). Every time we notice the same problem: their approach is not suited to this type of networks.

Generally the fact is that they did not understand the simple rule of this microblogging platform: the fact that you exist on Twitter does not depend solely on you, but for others and their ability to offer visibility : In this process, your individual actions do not serve as primers. In other words, if you wish to be heard, and most importantly, listened on Twitter, you should first of all seek to support and relay other network members.

This support and these relays, that is what we call “RT” or Retweets. You know, it is simply transcripts of tweets from other social spheres. We would now present to you an article called “10 best practices to enhance visibility through retweets (RT) on Twitter” , which we hope will help you refine your various actions on the microblogging platform and will distinguish you from other users.

Again, we certainly do not preach the gospel, we only follow up these ideas played a key role in building a community of more than 320 followers to my account @AbhishekCTRL just in 5 and half months (updated on 14/04/2011), and that it would be quite selfish not to want to be surrounded by the same way. Does not hesitate to find me on Twitter and to send me your questions or suggestions about this article and subject.

Impact of Retweet : be clear, specific and ideally complete

Enhance your visibility through retweets (RT) on Twitter

It is not always easy to be interesting with a single tweet, especially since we actually have less than 140 characters to achieve from our ends. The idea is to select the appropriate terms to be accurate yet concise. Do not be too vague, judge by what your subscribers will be satisfied by a retweet probably not their own, by contrast, there must be high impact on your tweet, and not too sharp in order to generate interest initially.

Composition: Include a link to accentuate the value of the tweet

If you want to appear as a profile disseminating much information in real time or near real time, do your best to include a link (via a url shortener URL as Bit . ly , for example) to the information in question. Your tweet should act as a gateway to relevant content, it is rarely information itself. Your subscribers will see in this connection, which is the main reason for a retweet from their social sphere.

Preparation: Target the right sources of information

Your publications should be based on sources that are not only safe but also relevant. In our case, we have long opted for sources (RSS) “mass media” before trusting the media to more targeted, discovered over the weeks, months, years. Our sources are counted in the hundreds today, these big blogs matters is the value they provide to your publications.

Contrast: Learn how to be faster and / or more relevant

Your ability to attract and therefore potentially be retweeted on Twitter does not depend on the attractiveness of the information itself but rather your ability to make a discovery, otherwise they will be interesting but yet still ignored: you will not get a real attention from your followers if you are the last of Twittosphere to tweet a link to information about a yet extremely interesting event. Out of the lot is an effort usually rewarded with greater exposure.

Reactivity: Be attentive and publish information in real time

The biggest concern when it comes to being reactive, it must constantly keep an eye on the various publications of its sources: do not concentrate fully on business which can prevent it from being effective. It is then important to find a middle ground: for example, when we write, we do not monitor the latest information published, we just cast an eye to between the end of writing and the beginning of the layout of this post.

Conciseness: post messages from 110 to 120 characters

Last week, a visitor asked me why my tweets information were all between 110 and 120 characters, not 140. The reason is simple: even though most Twitter users now utilize the “automatic retweet” to relay a tweet, some have not changed their habits and prefer the ” manual retweet “, adding “RT @” early or “via @” at the end of tweet. However, this small addition is a binding when a tweet is already almost 140 characters. If you have to say something big, add “–continued–” at the end of first part and beginning of last part.

Accuracy: Focus on a theme, captivate your audience

If you want to look really interesting as well take all necessary steps to contact the right audience. For this, it is no secret: you will attract subscribers by tweet, speaking of a specific theme, but not much. So we tweet the latest posts but also post few analysis and advice, but avoid it too often to get away from this theme.

Credibility: Banish the misspellings at all costs

We are still a little embarrassed when we suggest this, simply because we sometimes find it hard to respect it. However, you must know, know how to take care of themselves read to publish a clean tweet is essential; a tweet containing a grammatical error or spelling which will be re tweeted has chances of your social sphere getting shattered. We have often regretted tweets wasted in this way, and generally, deletion and re-publication does not change much.

Punctuality: Choose the right publication times

Although it should be a maximum responsiveness at the possible publication of a news item on Twitter, know that it is better to opt for times of high traffic in terms of publications for timeless content. So, focus your attention on time slots corresponding to periods of free time for your followers: between 10 am and 10:30 am (coffee break time!), between noon and 14h and between 17h and 18h, for example. On weekends, wait at least 11am or noon and even prefer 18h 19h!

Humanism: Earn your retweets, highlight your vicinity

Remember to finish these 9 points above do not serve much use if you forget a fundamental element is that social media are platforms on which it is necessary to be … social! Users do not want to retweet a robot but a human being who has to make efforts to provide interesting content. Be human, react, discuss, share, and above all, do not despise those who are the source of your effectiveness on Twitter.
