Misunderstandings With Cloud Computing

Misunderstandings With Cloud Computing is common due to promoting strategies by the companies. Many investments in private clouds are wasted. The reason usually is that, IT-decision-makers consider the virtualization technology is different from Cloud Computing. Cloud computing is Not Equal to the Future of Computing and it is important to understand the Cloud Computing Service Models and Deployment to avoid the misunderstandings with Cloud Computing.

Misunderstandings With Cloud Computing : Virtualization is Equivalent to Cloud Computing

One of the most common misunderstandings with Cloud Computing is to consider Virtualization as a separate older technology. There are lot of cloud solutions which are not what they claim to be. If your cloud service provider does not provide private access to your developers and if they do not fully exploit the standardized and automated functions, if their use is not charged on a pay-per-use method, then it is the truth that it is not a private cloud. But perhaps it is a high-performance virtualization solution. That might be better than anything that was until a year ago. Just what this solution does not provide precisely, is the value. The differences are serious from the perspective of the usage and they can be critical to a company’s IT strategy. Traditional virtualization solutions are often based on Windows or Linux  and uses the pre-defined resources. Their footprint and the burden is that they use always the same resource, they are not scaled. They run on virtual machines and are never turned off.

Misunderstandings With Cloud Computing : The systems remain static

True cloud applications if such exists, in contrast, should be elastic and transparent. It means you can only use the resources you need at any given time. They are optimized for Publilc cloud environments and designed in a way so that they can run in standard hardware environments. It is important to develop extremely standardized solutions, including applications in the cloud those can be used by many different users.

The purpose of virtualization is usually consolidation, not increasing the speed of the systems, they remain static, they are not really agile. In contrast to this top-down approach consider IT people in charge who have understood this distinction, their landscape rather from the perspective of a public cloud. They rely on decentralization, low, flexible prices. CIOs should work well to separate the virtualized environments and cloud solutions from one another. Not all tasks are suitable for a shift to the cloud and unsystematically can mixed things which can quickly wreak havoc. Security in the cloud is a point which is probably never given any importance by the new users.
