Cloud Based Online Services or Cloud Apps offer to run Office programs, e-mail, calendar, collaboration tools, data sharing without the requirement of installing or purchasing licenses. Small and medium enterprises, should deal in depth with the possibilities of cloud computing and Cloud Apps. Google Apps or Microsoft Office 365 offers cost effective Cloud Apps.

Google Apps for Business provided by the search engine giant is a powerful communication and collaboration package in a software-as-a-Service model (SaaS).
However, there is free alternative from Google too. You can use Google Docs, appspot like Cloud Apps for free.

With Office 365 companies are able to work with the current editions from Microsoft without having pay the Licencing cost or requirement of installation. Package includes Cloud Apps for e-mails, Office Web Apps as online versions of Word, Excel and Lync Online for VoIP Communications.

Hard Comparison of both Cloud Apps

 

Both providers guarantee service level agreement with an availability of 99.9 percent. Both Microsoft and Google are each 25 GB of storage customers for their mailboxes.

There are big differences remain in the area of office tools related Cloud Apps. The office suite is still in a de facto standard for office applications. The web-based Cloud Apps from Google provides only a fraction of the many features that are known from the classic office products from Microsoft.

Google provides Google Groups, Google Sites and Appspot along with the above Cloud Apps. These can be used for free (up to a level) too.

Both cloud platforms and Cloud Apps are as complete solutions for communication and collaboration, and consist of various practical tools to give themselves in terms of functionality and performance of each other anything.

Both Google Apps and Microsoft Office bundle 365 as a series of horizontal Cloud Apps that are very practical and increase work productivity cost-effectively.
