Cloud computing as a solution to the delivery of virtual desktops and applications in the corporate, academic and research purposes becoming more useful. In general, under the provision of cloud computing infrastructure, platforms and applications is understood to be services that are accessible via the Web. The provision is through special supplier. The resources are made available scalable, which means the user can can change resources according to his/her need. Which may be, for example, storage or processing power. Another example is user licenses for specific applications.

Overview of Cloud computing as a Solution for Virtual Desktops and Applications

Cloud computing is taking the advantage of virtualized computing and storage resources and the modern web technology provides cloud computing to be scalable, network-centric, have abstracted IT infrastructure, platforms and applications as on-demand services. The user is unaware about how the technical services provided, or where data is physically stored. User merely receives an abstract view on resources provided. Virtualization is essential for cloud computing.

The provider of cloud services are responsible for the maintenance of their data centers, regular software updates and troubleshooting. The billing of the services is a function of use, that is the user pays only for actual services used.

The focus of support and availability of terminals located on both mobile and stationary devices. Access is either from the local site or via a dial into the corporate network from remote locations. The access from an external network is also possible, but not typical. When deciding on a private cloud solution security aspects are important. By the purely internal access ensures that the data flow can be monitored and the information is not accessible from outside. For the connection of departments, for example, there is the part of Citrix dedicated software and hardware solutions that allow granular access control.

The presentation of virtualized desktops and applications on the mobile devices can completely integrated via the start menu or the desktop of the user. This can be in the public cloud and is more frequently identified trends and overlaps between the provision of services through a public cloud.
A limitation of the devices that access the private cloud exists. There are a variety of devices and operating systems for client devices. Microsoft Windows-based terminals or even mobile devices such as smartphones with client software can access to the private cloud computing. The basic functions are controlled by all types of client. The full client for Microsoft Windows based terminal provides all the functionality. The terminals independence interacts optimally at this point with the optimization of the ICA protocol for long-distance links and the many administrative options by the Terminal Service server systems. Here, to give just one example, for the different accessibility codes and guidelines are stored to provide the optimized for each access method settings.
