OwnCloud Tutorial for Rackspace Cloud Sites is not only helpful for the users of Rackspace but it is also helpful for who are using OwnCloud on other setup. Because of several factors, OwnCloud performs far better on optimized OpenStack powered load balanced cloud. Optimization of OwnCloud Tutorial for Rackspace Cloud Sites
Just like WordPress, OwnCloud Can be optimized with .htaccess rules, using SSL enabled CDN to deliver static contents. Any one with minimum knowledge of PHP can optimize OwnCloud to make it loading more faster. But this OwnCloud Tutorial for Rackspace Cloud Sites is not for optimization, this is specific for usage.

This the top left corner and usually by default looks closer to it :

Notice there are two buttons :

Clicking the New button makes a ajax menu to show the options to create a text file, a folder or add a hyperlink / URL. Clicking the upload button pop up the Operating System’s (like of Windows) browse file to select and upload option.
After clicking the new button, there will be three options :
- Text File
- Folder
- From URL
If you click any of them, it will become a field to type the name of the file or folder :

After typing the name clicking outside the box will create the file. It will appear on the Files list :

If you click it, then it will open like a text editor and you can type anything and on the top left you will get the save option. Click to save it. Thats it.
But if you only hover or click select, you will get this options on the right hand side :

Only the share option needs to be explained. Others are self explanatory. Clicking Share Option will give you a menu to share with other users on the same installation. For example, there are two Administrator accounts – Abhishek and Corrine. By default all are private, unless I share it. When I will share it, if the email option is set, it will ping Corrine that I have shared it. On Corrine’s account’s default page a Shared named folder will appear :

Images by default will open with jQuery lightbox effect.
Now on the bottom right :

Clicking this will open the menus of :
- Personal
- Users
- Apps
- Admin
- Help
Clicking the menu like will open the pages. Apps is like WordPress Plugins, these extends the function of OwnCloud. Personal options page, Fill in an email address to enable password recovery.
On the Sidebar, the installed Apps will show :

You can play music for example.
