Integrated Management of Cloud : Rackspace and Rightscale as Example

Integrated Management of Cloud can be a good solution for Open Source Cloud due common factor of platform. Rackspace and Rightscale has been used in this article on Integrated Management of Cloud as example. RightScale and Rackspace have in fact led to a higher level with Integrated Management of Cloud which is based on OpenStack, the versatile Open Source Cloud Computing software.

Integrated Management of Cloud : Why Open Source is the Solution

Every Company has their own model, which might not be suitable for all the users. For example, Rackspace Unmanaged Cloud Server (Next Generation) costs around $20 per month. The cost is exactly the same for HP cloud too, who uses the same software – Open Stack. It can happen at one end, that an user feels $20 the right pricing but has less knowledge about server or WordPress (as example) Installation or maintenance process. For that user, it is not possible to use the managed level of Rackspace because of higher cost. The cost of managed is higher to that user, but it might be the right for maintaining the quality of service. We found from our practical experience from WordPress.org forum, comments on this blog’s various articles, the basic problem of the users is either the Integrated Management of Cloud or need of a lesser cost, to some extent ‘light’ version of support. The first point, Integrated Management of Cloud is done by Rightscale. They has the same Pay as you go model, which except Rackspace and HP (or depends by IaaS) actually no one offer.

With Open Source, it is easy to develop own custom software to satisfy the customer, often for free from the community –  the large Community of Github or Sourceforge were never negligible.

With this strategic partnership Rightscale is offering both the solution for private and public cloud using the same technology and handled in the same way. This collaboration has resulted the possibility of using customers full support of RightScale for both of these platforms, and because of that companies can follow hybrid platforms through a single point of management.  The joint solution offered by Rackspace and RightScale is probably ideal for the start-up companieswho are looking for a reliable solution on which they can offer their Software as a Service with agility and efficiency.
