Security in the Cloud : The Concerned Issues
A majority of computing experts opines about cloud computing, that in many cases the data in the cloud is more secure than that in own data center, this is an important statement for the small companies who usually do not have the resources to dedicate to the security both from experienced staff and the needed technology.
Many Companies has moved some of the non-critical systems in the cloud, but they do not trust to put the critical processes in the hands of the provider. The financial data and the data of credit cards are among the great blank points to adapt in the cloud, in fact, around 50 percent of small medium and large companies have not much trust in the confidential financial data in the cloud. This raises the finger towards a big point again – Security in the Cloud does have more fear among the users.
The turnkey point is that, among these companies, only around 30 percent actually investigate the security practices even for their existing system, which is not cloud based. Most of the data used in this article on Security in the Cloud is from Gartner.
Security in the Cloud : The Fact
Meanwhile, the organizations those specialize in security are determined to make the cloud a safe environment where companies can do business without any worry. Nicholas Popp, of Symantec, said he believes that it will take around three to five years before the cloud becomes the safest environment for small and medium sized enterprises. Free Public Cloud, especially for storage, definitely has security issues due to shared community cloud like structure. But the basic fact is, Security in the Cloud is more dependent on the companies who can adapt the latest technologies with minimum investment.
