Managing Rackspace Cloud Account Billing

Here is how to on managing Rackspace Cloud account billing matters. This is, intended to help the existing users to understand a third party. What is the need of making the third party understanding the part on managing Rackspace Cloud account billing?

Managing Rackspace Cloud Account Billing

Because, if you are; for example, an Indian client, your beloved Government might impose a Rule overnight for matters related to FOREX and Rackspace Billing will not listen. If your credit card getting updated or you are waiting for a date to overcome the maximum money which can be spent for foreign exchange; no Fanatical Support will appear to work. Rackspace Billing and/or Accounts team members will start to serve you legally polite but psychologically pressurizing emails to make you remember that the servers, infrastructure is not yours. If your billing date was on 5th and possibly your credit card will take 10 days more to get updated, frankly; you will have to allow a friend to login and pay your bill. It does not matter how many years you are paying Rackspace, which websites are running, why it is happening.

Fortunately or unfortunately, Rackspace is a premium cloud hosting service which is really great from technical point of view. Rackspace bills as practically post paid, assumably they have some regular bad experiences of non-payment, may be tis triggers their this behavior. Quite definitely the owners have instructed them not to wait a bit or reply to the issues or the job mandates the employees to behave like that :

Practically the owners group should be aware, employees leave the job and go to another company. Obviously they have reasons to behave oddly, but this is exactly like Apple Care or infamously known as Apple Do Not Care. Obviously if some customer do not pay more than one billing cycle, he/she should be made aware.

There are many official article :

The only way to Pay Rackspace is via a PCI Complaint Credit Card. There is no reason to curse the employees per se. They are essentially employees, if they have to work for our company, they have to follow our instructions. May be, Rackspace can not collect money from the morally wrong person. We guess they receive perks for collecting money from due accounts.

We wrote in a fully neutral way. Rackspace Cloud Account Billing is far better than any web host. They will not stop the access or the services to the account for a due bill with 15-30 days (we guess) period. To avoid facing this issue, you can pre-pay (there several types of “commitment”) option. Unfortunately, Government of India might not allow to pay such a large amount at one shot, you have to work a bit to make it working, if you are wrongly an Indian Citizen.

Managing Rackspace Cloud Account Billing : Allow Only Reliable Friend To Login

There are certain user role based function to login to Rackspace Cloud Account. However, for a closer friend, you possibly need not to create a new account access. Simply change the password. Here is a kind of info graphic for the work flow. Straightforwardly, provide your friend URL in this format after changing the password :

3
https://mycloud.rackspace.com/cloud/your-acccount-ID/account#billing
# change your-acccount-ID with yours one looking like 7693818
# one digit in example has been increased with intention

The friend will directly land to the account webpage. Ask him/her to click the billing link. As This will reduce the steps to make a third party understand / find the right menu. First, you friend needs to edit the credit card information and they pay the current balance. He/She for executing the crime of being your friend, can not change the Card info back. When your credit card’s issue will get resolved, you have to change it. We recommend to keep the password unchanged till you change the Card’s number. You friend morally should have access to view the changes when done. Banks and Credit Card are also great, they might take an opportunistic benefit.

Advance thanks to DeeDee and/or his husband Robert for going to pay using their credit card compromising their personal security of the card. Since 2011, it happened thrice for us. Dr. Rajesh (blogger, junior and very good person) paid once. If a Rackspace employee is read before you – you might not be able to view this webpage. There is hugeeeeee due – 109 USD.
None of the mentioned friends of me will do any wrong, but it is very dangerous to give access to a third party to give even a minimum restricted access. With full access – all your data server can clicked by your friend to delete them forever. You can not take backup for DNS, so keep these data saved on your computer. It actually does not violate Rackspace’s Service Level Agreement, your friend has wrongly deleted, so you are fully responsible.

We wrote it so that DeeDee or someone can pay! Instead of writing privately repeatedly at least once a year; a post might help the others.

You might be wondering why the computer “assemblers” like Apple, software and IT companies behave in this way. The reason is simple – the owners literally were beggars once. Now they has been multibillionaires, but psychologically they carry the fear they have experienced once at, suppose 20 years age. This explains why Infosys is kind of Jail for the young Engineers. It is always better to ask about Great Grandfather for personal relationships.
