As we have seen, Google now integrates Twitter’s latest tweet into its search results via real-time search . It is therefore important to be on Twitter to take advantage of this positioning potential of real-time search.
We are focus on the potential of Twitter in the organic results of search engine. Besides its usefulness in unquestionable in marketing, the micro-blogging service now offers visibility in organic results i.e. in non-market outcomes. It is time for latecomers to get to twitter because this visibility; even though it offers only short-term visibility, is not negligible.
One of the first tasks on the checklist is to create an account on twitter, the best thing to do is use a user name that matches the brand. Indeed, to get to your website users will find the name of your brand, not your name on twitter. However, the brand name might be big enough not to fit as Twitter username; or you might have multiple websites, in that case using name in “compromised mode” can be thought of.
It is therefore essential to use the same name to appear in the results in real time. We note also that if your company name does not match your twitter account (if only a few letters), results returned by the search are not satisfactory.
Of course there are obstacles, as in the days of squatting of domain names, some crafty fun to take the names of companies that did not immediately launched into adventure. Fortunately for them, they will be able to report that squatting in name from Twitter which will judge whether the account belongs to the company or not. You might recall Twitter suspended fake Steve Jobs account on March, 2011.
To amplify the phenomenon, it is also possible to sync your twitter with your Facebook Fan page, your content will be more important because it will come from different sources. There are many tools to do this: simply type in your twitter Facebook search bar for filtering applications.
Previously we wrote an article on how to syndicate your feed automatically on Twitter, face-book etc. ; you might be interested to read it as well.
Today, real-time results will appear only on some queries that match the keywords re-tweeted several times. This strategy is not yet 100% effective on the 3 main engines-Google, Yahoo and Bing-but we know they have all signed a contract with Twitter about the results in real time.
Let us wait and see how the integration of real-time results in their search results pages, maybe one day before each query, the search engines offer these results.
