Plan before you create a blog

Generally, we write articles for those who have already started writing in their blog, but there are many visitors visit  this website without already being started their own blog. Some of them wants to create a blog, but not sure how to start the planning. So, here is the plan how you should proceed in order to create a successful blog.

Hosting and domain name

Choose a good, reputable web hosting company. In other article we wrote about the prerequisites and the features the web server needs to run WordPress nicely.

You can buy domain name from the same company from whom you are going to rent the server or from a different company. Some experienced people says that purchasing domain name from other company is a better option. You can start from basic plan (to save running out of money) and gradually shift to higher plans. Shifting from from plan to plan is easier (if you do not change server space, like shifting to dedicated server of the same company) than shifting from one company’s server to others.

Design of the blog

Depending on the purpose of your blog’s role design can vary. For a great blog designing is good and one of the key but not as important as the content. In web-based applications, design matters when it comes to attracting and retaining the first visitors. We wrote in other article in details about the importance of design. You might right now recall few successful blogs with great and unique designs.

ContentPlan before you create a blog

Many times people announces the launch of its blog in many places and many of those times are the only content that is a welcome post. People links and subscribe to sites with good content and not with just an article of welcome. There are more such examples. We observed one technology blog where wrote when the blogger got married, after one year  a child was born. These are root causes of destruction of a blog. Yes, as a human we need to say and share some personal things. But for that, a separate personal blog, should be created. Friends, regular readers, fans will be interested to read those for sure; but not you, who for the first time came to this blog searching how to create a blog or what to write in a blog.

Content is the King. We wrote in details about the value of writing unique content in a blog in details.

We often say that, always try to link own popular posts in an article. You will do it too. There are three links in this post itself linking to other articles. Read them, again come back and try to understand how relevantly these links are given. For no time you will feel that we are pushing you to read another article just to increase pageviews. Linking to own posts is an art and yes it needs two things: one is huge number of posts (we have 800+ posts at the time of writing this article) so that you can link and experience. What is this experience? If you post 2-3 good articles daily for six months, then come back and read your first article. You yourself can judge how your writing has been changed. Unfortunately, we do not know any shortcut method for this one. It will take time for individual basis.

Conclusion

When you are about to publish a site, you are so excited that you are going to publish, you announce it and suddenly find errors as people began to arrive, in fact, we all passed this episode. So, before launching, invite someone to visit your blog, take a look and check if there are any errors or if you are missing something.

We already wrote (and will write more in future) about how to make money from your blog. Read them before designing your blog, so that you can have an idea, where you will put the advertisement units.
