10 tips to increase traffic to your blog

We used or using these methods to increase our traffic. Quality posting is mandatory. Using this tricks can accelerate the number of traffic per day significantly.

Post as frequently often as possible

You will lose traffic if you rarely update your blog, say once in a week. Try to post at least 2 posts per day during the first 6 months. This will not only keep and attract more visitors.
It is often not possible for us to write like a machine; but Google wants frequent postings; that is one reason we post free legal downloads. It takes 10-15 minutes to write a download post.

Find out the popular categories

Writing about blogs, Google, WordPress, Windows has the chance of getting better traffic.

  • Windows itself a problemetic operating system enough to create headache from basic to advanced users. So, find out the problems people asking in forums and write about them.

Commenting on other blogs

Find blogs with high traffic related to your niche, visit them and leave a valuable comment. Do not do flattery or overdo anything.

Write guest articles in other blogs

You will get a good traffic. Make it sure that you can republish it in your own blog later. Ask the blog owner about it. It will serve dual purpose. After getting a stable number of visitors like us; you will not need to post elsewhere.

Post in related forums

Find out good forums which allows to put own website address in signature. Give small tips, help others. Never post own website link inside your post, that often annoys the forum owner.
Do not post in forums which does not allow to put hard coded textual links to your website. Do not forget to put archor text (if it supports HTML input) to your signature link.
Try to recall the name of the forums you were member once before you created your website. Go and login there and change the signature. It has additional benefit of getting not noticed by forum owner as your posts are buried behind many posts. They will give solid backlinks. Do not spam.

RSS feed directories

Submit to good RSS directories; unlike submitting website url to thousands of bad directories which caries the risk of getting penalized by Google, it has practically little risk. Do not submit to the directories which are known to be content farms.

Post important news and updates

If you found an important news of your niche, immediately publish it on your blog. That post may be positioned quickly and send you visitors. This will stay for a week or more.

Social networking

Use a social sites like: Twitter, Facebook etc. to syndicate your RSS feeds automatically.

Giveaways

Giving free stuffs has always a good value. Do not try with softwares. People has overdone it. Give small hardwares; books, pens etc. according to your budget. Do not forget to print or draw your logo and website address on them.

Advertise online

This is a killer method. We will discuss it further elaborately. Use search engine advertising at the beginning as it will cost less. Later target the competitor’s website by putting banner through advertisers.

 

Bonus tips

 

Do not post at around the same time by your clock everyday. Google will think you are using some automated software to post and penalize you.

Increase the post frequency when the number of visitors are getting less. For that, keep some emergency article written beforehand.

Write evergreen articles. For example, this post will be relevant years after years.
