However, as for many other Flowers, Lotus Flower has many sisters. Our National Lotus Flower’s scientific name is Nelumbo nucifera. This is not Nelumbo nucifera. We are not sure of the specific species with our limited botanical knowledge. It is probably closely related to National Flower of Bangladesh (Shapla in Bengali, Nymphaea nouchali).
