Cloud Computing can be depending upon the kind of service package offered by different providers in to Private Cloud, Public Cloud and Hybrid Cloud.
In a previous post we wrote about Hybrid Cloud Computing. As this post was not published before that post, we wrote the basics and suggested to read another article on Cloud Computing.
Today, in this article, we will discuss about the much marketed terminology in Cloud Computing scenario : Private Cloud.
What is this Private Cloud Computing ?
As we have said before, in case of public cloud computing, services are offered on in the way so that an outsider can access the applications either as a free or paid solution.
---
In case of private cloud computing, however the Cloud Computing platform is within the user’s access area in a way so that other can not not access the service. In general, a case of private cloud computing, it is the platform that offers hardware only like machines, storage and network infrastructure (IaaS). But in some setup, that being more and more deployed in Private Cloud Computing now, you can also have a special segment of private cloud computing instance (s) that will allow to deploy platform (PaaS) and even applications (SaaS ) to share.
Advantages and disadvantages of Private Cloud Computing
An advantage of such instance of Private Cloud Computing Platform when compared against the public cloud computing is the location of data within an organization, ensuring greater security.
It relatively easy to integrate Private Cloud Computing services offered by the providers with own system as well.

However, the main disadvantage of Private Cloud Computing is the initial huge investment for the physical infrastructure, virtualization and bandwidth. Security is needed in form of physical and software level as well. These in turn harms the scalability of the platforms.
In one sentence the major disadvantage of Private Cloud Computing is the initial as well as recurrent costs.
