Create GIF Animations of Your Own Using Free Softwares

Create GIF Animations of Your Own for creating greetings,funny videos or useful tutorials showing the needed few steps. It is very easy to create GIF animations if you follow each and Every instruction very carefully.

Sometimes videos can not be used and even a small clip of tutorial video can hamper the page loading time significantly. Using an old good GIF image for very short duration will hardly consume 250 kb, if we load from CDN, it will load quite fast.

 

Tools needed to Create GIF Animations

 

There are mainly two ways to create GIF animations. One is by using Adobe premium products – which are mainly used to create GIF images for Adverts and other professional usage. As basically we need to convert a video to GIF and not all users have such costly Adobe softwares like Photoshop, you can create gif animations using these tools :

  • FFmpeg or AVCutty or VLC : You basically need to extract the frames as images from a video.
  • Second one is a software named UnFREEz : http://www.whitsoftdev.com/unfreez/ (copy paste the full url), this will serve the purpose of Adobe Photoshop CS5 in our case to create GIF animations.

 

So the basic principle to Create GIF Animations are :

 

  1. You need a video
  2. You need to make the video chopped in to hundreds or thousands of image sequences
  3. You need another software to join these image sequences to Create GIF Animations

If you understand the easy logic we said as three points, you will not face any problem to Create GIF Animations.

 

Create GIF Animations using Adobe Photoshop CS5 

In case of Adobe Photoshop CS5, you first need to create a blank document of the image frame size. Then drag all the images on the blank document and  click Window > Animation. You can adjust accordingly. Finally, create the animation and save it for Web and devices.
