Using DoubleClick for Competition with AdSense to increase Ad Revenue

Why we are using DoubleClick for Competition with AdSense

 

Using DoubleClick has dual benefit – it is a free Ad delivery system plus it is of Google. Google Bots are Multi Agent System. For AdSense Ads, Google probably uses different system to deliver Ads than that of their own search Network. You with 10K pageviews per day can write something on Cloud Computing and are also writing – the CPC will vary. The main problem is that, as it is bidding system, its very difficult to increase the CPC after a certain limit. To circumvent this barrier we are using DoubleClick to control the unwanted lower paying Ads. Thats what our prime target for using DoubleClick.

You can run a test to deliver your own Image Banner or third party Ads and set the Price Priority as fixed CPC. Never do the big mistake – using AdSense units as backup Ads. Using DoubleClick to compete using a set CPM is a great idea. As said by Google themselves,  Google AdSense content will appear in an ad unit only if all of the following criteria are met:

 

  • AdSense is enabled for the ad unit.
  • The competing line item’s type is network, bulk, price priority or house.
  • The CPM of the AdSense ad is higher than the alternatives.

 

We recommend to use this guideline for Using DoubleClick to increase revenue :

 

  • Use CPM, but test CPC too.
  • Block lower CPM Ads with your own custom image.
  • Using the custom Ad Tags to target the Ads properly.
