Cyber Crime and Netcrime : What these actually are ?

Cyber Crime and Netcrime are terminologies related to Criminology, Law etc. I do not have any legal degree and this article on Cyber Crime and Netcrime provides only few superficial information and is not suitable to use as a reference textual matter.

 

What are these Cyber Crime and Netcrime are about

 

Cyber crime is a term for criminal acts where computer in any form plays as an adapted device or as an object illegal acts. The assignment depends on the respective areas and Computer Crime is used to denote both Cyber Crime and Netcrime. Netcrime refers to criminal exploitation of the Internet.

 

What Cyber Crime and Netcrime covers

 

Cyber Crime and Netcrime

All crimes where the computer is used for planning, preparation or execution are usually covered under Cyber Crime. Different countries might have difference in cyber law (s) and inclusion of topology of Cyber Crime varies although a generalized idea about Cyber Crime is :

Computer fraud, Fraud with access privileges to communications services, Falsification of legally relevant data, deception in legal relations in data processing, Data manipulation, putting Obscene or offensive content over the Internet etc.

 

Cyberbullying is a term which is used to denote the usage of the Internet and related technologies to harm others.

 

What is not Cyber Crime

 

Any legal act is not a crime. Copying copyrighted content or publicly distributing such without respecting the Licensing  can be cyber crime but republishing or redistribution of a particular version of a work with Creative Commons License, for example, with proper attribution, link etc for sub or modified version of  Creative Commons License is not illegal.

 

For an average content publisher, it is important to understand Licensing Policies with the help of proper person if needed to avoid any act to get marked as a Cyber Crime, whose consequence might be serious.
