Computing and Neuroscience : Branches and Basics

Computing and Neuroscience has very closer relationship. The basic idea is to understand human brain and cellular functioning and increase the quality of life. If a computer can not decrease the work load of a human, then it had little importance. In the same way, if the application of Neuoscience was not able to gradually solve the issues with disease processes, it had no relevance. The reason and history for publication of this article on Computing and Neuroscience is quite. Among them, most important is a request via contact us form to me by a medical student – how to proceed in these branches academically as most of the branches is still not fully defined or has no super-specialty per se.

Computing and Neuroscience : The Path of Integrative Neuroscience

First and foremost important point a reader must know before reading this article on Computing and Neuroscience is – I am talking aout Open Source Free Health. Basically there are reasons for less progress in less progress in combined Computing and Neuroscience.

Integrative neuroscience provides a framework for Integration Computing and Neuroscience :

---

  • Molecular neuroscience ” Cellular functions of neurons including connections, networks, neurotransmitter systems. It is taught in Medical Schools within the scope of various subjects but not with the name.
  • Neuroanatomy – Taught in Medical Schools within the scope of Anatomy.
  • Behavioral neuroscience ”  Describes the physiological and pathological aspects of neuroscience. Taught in Medical Schools within the scope of multiple subjects.
  • Developmental neuroscience ” Basically one chapter of  Anatomy. Taught in Medical Schools.
  • Cognitive neuroscience ” Psychiatry fully covers it,  Taught in Medical Schools.
  • Mathematical neuroscience ” Only complex part that is not taught conventionally in Medical Schools, which includes topics like Neuroprosthetics and Modeling of Neurons.
  • Clinical observations ”  If your nerve is trapped, I will release it.

As the thing clearly shows most needed must to know topics are related to things taught conventionally in Medical Schools, Computing and Neuroscience and Integrative neuroscience belongs to Health Science and as there is Hippocratic Oath, the control of its application on Human beings is of the Medical Study related neutral bodies to prevent ‘researches’ with human living without any knowledge about disease and treatment.

So, practically one subject needed to be added in undergraduate syllabus in Medical Schools. Basically that is a bit computing part. That will regulate and prevent the unwanted rise and false promises by ‘research scholars’. That is an agenda, that can be raised and placed in proper place by me in right time.

Computing and Neuroscience : Rocket Science is Physics

Computing and Neuroscience

Rocket Science is basically an iconic phrase. Actually every student of science knows the basics. Another reason behind this article on Computing and Neuroscience is, basically a cunning group (i.e. ‘research scholars’) is using these practically misty neologisms and making people of pure computing as well as health fool. The person of pure computing understand Python, but can not understand whether these ‘research scholars’ are saying the right, because they are using terminologies related to core health. If I call an UNIX expert and do some imaginary coding with the wordings “medullary cavity”, “Swan Cells” in simple bash script and ask the expert to check it, he/she not understand what the hell are these and begin to think that this cunning belongs to the ‘research scholars’. In the same way, is the opposite is done using a higher programming language, it is very easy to fool the most experienced clinician in this World. Many doctors who has some idea about computing, knows basics of cURL, PHP, Python, Ruby etc. Basically these are logical sets for the computer and Health is not outside science. Everyone has read Calculus, Laws of Physics etc.

The intermediate group is the book publishers, paid Journal sites etc. Obviously they are showing interest to make money.
The important point is, a sick person’s family is hoping for a thing to be realized soon by these ‘research scholars’. Practically if these ‘research scholars’ get money or award that is not of any concern to the society in long term than the false hopes.

The practical fact is like, in 1902; Dr. Alois Alzheimer described a disease. You know the name – Alzheimer’s disease. After 110 years it is still dangerous if someone is diagnosed. Understand a very basic thing – Anthrax is still dangerous. There are drugs to treat, but human is quite susceptible to death. How we control it – by using data – how it is transmitted, how we can break that chain.
If someone suddenly promises with some theory or coding, that soon he/she will discover a way to reverse Alzheimer’s disease and fully restore the person – it is a dangerous signal for the family members of the patient. They will hope, ok, our father might get well soon with that method.
