How to Hold a Digital Camera really depends on the camera you have, the type of lens, your physique and also whether your hands are large or small enough. Quite often we see people with outstretched arm holding a camera with one hand, in one direction and then keep clicking and complaining later that the camera can not take crisp picture. How to Hold a Digital Camera : Tripod and Other Solutions

 

Previously, we published an article on Tripod. A tripod is the best way to ensure a sharp picture. The tripod provides a stable platform for your camera, a 30cm above the ground which can stand. With a tripod you can take the time to give importance your composition. But not everyone wants to bother with a tripod, a few pounds to carry around. Tripod takes the pace out and you are less flexible. Without a tripod to get a sharper image, especially challenging in dark environments.

How to Hold a Digital Camera really depends on the camera you have, but two hands are much more stable than a hand. In addition, you should try your camera closer to your face. Your body is in fact quite stable support and the closer you hold the camera to your body, lesser is the chance of camera shake by moving your arms. The more compact you can make yourself, the better. Your body is your tripod.

How to Hold a Digital Camera : DSLR

 

Place the lens of your DSLR camera in your left hand, while the body of the camera resting against your wrist. This allows the camera to get quite a firm base if you put it on your right hand. Notice the way the lady is holding the DSLR. With most lenses so you can use your thumb and forefinger to focus the ring for manual zoom operation. Place your right hand on the right side of the camera, the thumb on the back, your index finger slightly above the shutter release and your other three fingers on the front of the camera. Most cameras also have a recess for your fingers, they would of course sit there. Hold the camera securely, but do not squeeze it. Same position can be used when the camera is in the vertical position.

 

How to Hold a Digital Camera : Digital Compact Camera

 

In the case of a compact camera, you will see that the camera actually can be hold with four fingers (thumb and forefinger of both hands), dictated by the LCD screen – therefore you should hold keep the camera within minimum range required to view the LCD screen. Two fingers at the top and bottom of the camera should support it. Most holds with one hand and stretch the hand to the maximum possible. That is the basic reason for imperfect picture.

 

Today, with most digital cameras, there is no need to practice yoga; i.e. hold breadth as if pretending something will happen. Most has image stabilizer which adjusts this minute movement with accelerometer and  fuzzy logic.
