Author Images in Google Search : tbs and ppl_ids

Author Images in Google Search for Google Verified Authors includes a bigger image in right side with some details and links. This is about the Microformat which determines it. Here, Google Verified Author does not mean that the process normally all the users follow by adding rel=’me’ and rel=’author’ tags. That rel part has been 2 years old and every serious webmaster is aware of it. We are talking about the Authors who has received special personalized email directly Google sent like in the case we mentioned before or about.

Author Images in Google Search and tbs and ppl_ids

Author Images in Google Search for Google Verified Authors actually a bit misnomer, may be Google has separate ‘private name’. It is basically about a person or rather people. It is obvious that, Google primarily has divided the KNOWN peoples in the World broadly in to few categories, this is just an hypothetical back calculation as Larry Page will not tell me the exact method :

  • Human who are hugely popular, for example Albert Einstein or Micheal Jackson. Few thousands or few millions searches for one specific person. So here searching with the tbs and ppl_ids parameter and normal query parameter becomes the same.
  • Human who has significant contribution, needs to be mentioned, but the contribution is subjected to be verified by manual checking (possibly). Example can be of Darren Rowse. It is actually not a perfect example, as a good number searches for Darren Rowse. Whatsoever, who are less popular than Darren, but has some contribution; but several people actually searches for them belongs to the category we are talking about. There can be hundreds of Abhishek Ghosh and at least Dr.Abhishek Ghosh in tens. But, from ‘normal’ search pattern for the real me must confirm that – yes, this is the Dr. Abhishek Ghosh who is searched the most. It is an unfortunate, inhumane social naming process that actually pushing us to an inevitable competition.

When we are talking about humanity, Google have to keep the record, that this Dr. Abhishek Ghosh needs a bit more highlight than the others. Otherwise another Dr. Abhishek Ghosh can file a Court Case against Google for feeling ‘ humiliated ‘. So, this parameters needs to be understood clearly for keeping yourself a bit forward in front of Google.

SEO is different part, we basically want to say about the search parameters that evokes it and possibly with time, normal search query automatically evokes that Author Images in Google Search on the right side. This is a kind of natural selection. Google just sets it, but the end result can not be manipulated by any means.

Author Images in Google Search and tbs and ppl_ids : Digging Deeper

The parameters are tbs and ppl_ids, which actually shows the possible progression of your ‘carrier’ in Google Search. No special SEO process actually exists, its Google who determines it :

The Full URL that will evoke it is :

Vim
1
https://www.google.com/search?q=FirstnameLastname&tbs=ppl_ids:--GooglePlusID-,ppl_aut:1

Author Images in Google Search - tbs and ppl_ids

FirstnameLastname and GooglePlusID are variables. With time, by ‘natural selection process’ normal search querry evokes it :

Vim
1
https://www.google.com/search?q=FirstName+Lastname

If there is Wikipedia page about the author, more details usually show up. We have no idea, whether it can be demoted by Google. The subParameter ppl_aut might have values other than 1. That is an unknown part. Other such tbs parameter is ppl_nps (instead of ppl_ids). Other subparameter which are found by various people out of trial and error are :

?complete=0

&ion=0

&pws=0

&gl=all

&tbo=1

&q=+

Except adding rel=me and rel=author, practically nothing can be done to get the right sided Author Images in Google Search.
