Why a Photographer Should Have a Blog ? Blog is also a great tool for photographers, it is crucial for your identity. What are the other advantages ? Blog is a word which is relatively well known and widespread. Bloggers becoming a different identity. There is not much difference between a Blogger and a Stage Performer. Content can be different. It is never that a blog will always be about technology, health or recipe. The biggest problem is felt by the others who publish content – we can not find the person. Possibly he/she published a Photograph in a forum and we want to use with proper acknowledgement, that person never logged in the forum back and Photograph became kind of Orphan. The answer to the title why a photographer should have a blog has multiple facets. Two facets are said in this paragraph.

Why a Photographer Should Have a Blog : Because Your blog tells who you are

It will be a big mistake if I, for example upload photographs on my personal blog at dr.abhishekghosh.net. The basic reason is – today, creating niche is important. The backend settings for a normal blog, a blog on coding and a Photography blog is never the same. Although, this is not the answer to question; why a photographer should have a blog – but it definitely points out another aspect – do not make both human and search engine bots confused.

The contents of a blog does not only serve to introduce you to the search engines, but also to the people. If your photography site contains your photo and some biographical information and contact, some amount of information is visible to the visitors. Everyone is a kind of Freelancer or Entrepreneur today – in very broader sense. For a photographer, it is important to build a personal brand – a personal brand that describes you and make you known for your skills, your inclinations, your opinions and why not – your weaknesses too. The contents of a blog, if written properly, are highly effective in defining your brand.

Why a Photographer Should Have a Blog : Because a Photographer Has Many Things to Say

Why a Photographer Should Have a Blog

First, nowadays, trying to make oneself known without using the web does not make any sense. If you are active for decades as a photographer, it could be the fact that you have already accumulated a lot of knowledge and you can convey that knowledge with the blog.

It is also true for the amateur photographers who just want to share and their photos known to the right audience. When you are owning a domain, you are legally bearing many responsibilities. None can actually re-publish or rather steal your Photograph as technically and legally you have more control.

It is needless to state that, a properly curated website can really make some good earning – at least you can buy more photography equipments.

Technical Part

Technical part is not discussed here – indeed, this whole website has content over 70% which are related to web hosting and blogging. Normally you can use a good domain name, a good webhost, a CDN and WordPress to start your own blog. Then you need to search about what to know about domain names, what to know about web hosts, how to configure CDN etc.
