How the business of mobile data traffic will evolve? The use of data has increased dramatically and more traffic is generated by applications and services that uses a good bandwidth. The mobile sector has seen an explosion in recent years, driven by the innovations of wireless networks and the ability to exchange data via the Internet. Now keyless Door unlocking mobile app is not a dream.
Many applications have helped to increase the size of the data transmitted traffic for services streaming radio services, uploading photos, social networks, video streaming content, i.e. all functions are typically characterized by a huge demand for bandwidth – Cloud Computing and Mobile Computing are merging. As we live in a real society, we need to think about topics like Social, Mobile, Cloud Computing and Information Technology.

Business of Mobile Data Traffic and Mobile branded Data Services

Since the arrival of 3G technology, LTE the part of revenue from voice services has dwindled more and more, forcing telecommunications companies to find a new way to monetize from their data services. These are called Mobile branded data services, which are the most tempting slice of the market: it is different than mobile service plans, voice traffic or SMS or the Internet, services such as those for the entertainment industry, music, videos, games and e -books, location-based services (LBS), or cloud services for Mobile.

Estimated revenues for these services amounted to $ 14.5 billion for mobile operators around the world for 2011 alone. Many analysts, however, estimate that by 2014-2015 the adoption of these mobile data services will reach the point of saturation of the market, making it particularly difficult for the operators to raise prices.

Business of Mobile Data Traffic : The Current Competitive Difference

How the Business of Mobile Data Traffic Will Evolve

The current competitive difference is great between the operators who immediately invested during the life cycle of mobile data services and those who have underestimated the new opportunities and simply expanding the existing packages of internet tariff plans and now find themselves in difficulty to compete with the other providers. What is certain is that, consumers in the future will pay more and more for those companies that offer unique experiences. To provide these will need to be based on a network with great bandwidth, but the competitive advantage will be provided on how the consumers perceive the value-added services. The innovation will be driven by those who probably will offer new models of revenues from mobile traffic and tighten strategic partnerships for sharing of expertise.

The areas in which to invest are entertainment, high definition video communications, mobile e-commerce and advertising. To have an efficient distribution, platform operators need to accelerate the development of hybrid app store, suitable for web and mobile at the same time. The realization of these objectives can also be fueled by partnerships or acquisitions of suppliers of app development platforms such as Appcelerator, jQuery Mobile or appMobi; through which the operators would better support more efficiently.
