Most of the electronic projects on this website is written with the thought of limitation of budgets. Limited budget often a factor which affects learning. Here is a List of Cheapest Components to Learn Arduino and Other Electronic Projects. We guess, many readers hardly can spare $20 to $50 for learning electronics works. With Made in China recyled components and suitable guides, it is possible to learn core electronics. As most have limited knowledge, using programmable IC from the beginning often not possible.

Cheapest Components to Learn Arduino and Other Electronic Projects

For the electronics part, you do not need all the possible things available. Made in China Arduino clones are quite cheaper now and many of them are no way bad in terms of functioning, longevity. You need no paid application as Arduino IDE is free. Try to buy components from real shops instead of online shops to avoid extra charges. These things you need at minimum in long run. First 5 on the list are minimum need to work at the beginning. First 12 you’ll need for 1-2 month of learning. Number 13 to 17 you can buy slowly after understanding the matters :

  1. A breadboard
  2. Few meters of 22 gauge solid core wire for electronics works
  3. Some tool to cut that wire. Tool can be safety razor blade. Make “jumpers” from that solid core wire.
  4. About 10 resistors of various values like 100 Ohm, 220 Ohm, 1000 Ohm.
  5. Few LED
  6. Few capacitors (ceramic and electrolytic capacitors)
  7. One or two 9V battery with battery clip
  8. A buzzer
  9. Few push buttons
  10. 1.8v incandescent flashlight bulb with holder
  11. Soldering iron with soldering wire
  12. 3V DC motor
  13. LCD display for Arduino
  14. 1-2 LDR
  15. TM 1637 module
  16. DT 11 module
  17. If possible, a cheap multimeter

Our website has guide with all of the components. Online sites actually do not sell many cheap components listed above as 1-2 pieces.

Tutorials With the Cheapest Components to Learn Arduino

Here are some example guides :

  1. Blink flashlight bulb with Arduino
  2. Arduino TM 1637 clock
  3. Arduino TM1637 Traffic Light Counter
  4. Arduino 3V DC motor
  5. Arduino light sensor

Keep in mind – it is not shameful to have limited budget in technical things. Target of applied science is to build things at cheapest possible cost.

Why Cheap Kits Can Not Deliver Cheapest Components to Learn Arduino

Cheap kits of components are like this :

Cheapest Components to Learn Arduino and Other Electronic Projects

They have some components which are basically luxurious, like DuPont type jumpers. Any solid core wire or any wire basically can connect. They often do not have the components which deliver the chance more work, like TM1636 module, DC motor etc.
