Arduino : One Push Button Multiple Functions (Single Press, Double Press, Long-Time Press)

With Arduino, We Can Have One Push Button Multiple Functions Like Single Press, Double Press, Long-Time Press. There is Nice Library For Faster Prototyping. Arduino One Push Button Multiple Functions

 

Matthias Hertel written a neat library named OneButton which we can use into our sketches easily. This article just showing one example how to use the library with one LED with common basic connection like this :

For the below code, you need to connect the pushbutton to pin A1 (ButtonPin) and ground. The LED will be on pin 13 (StatusPin). Here is the library on Github :

The repository has link to official reference in his website. The example used in this guide BlinkMachine.ino is also written by him. This example shows how to use the OneButtonLibrary to detect double-click events with one push button. One click on the push button will turn the LED on. A doubleclick on the push button will change the blink rate from ON to SLOW to FAST and back. So double click/push will make it faster blinking or slower blinking whereas one click/push will determine ON or OFF.
