Mobile commerce is a special form of electronic commerce using wireless communication and mobile devices. Mobile commerce refers to any type of business transaction in which the transaction partners use mobile electronic communication technologies (such as mobile communications, wireless LAN or Bluetooth) in connection with mobile devices in the context of service initiation, service agreement or service provision. There is still no uniform conceptual framework for mobile commerce in the literature, so that the term mobile business is often applied to this definition, analogous to electronic commerce, and mobile commerce is only used in the narrower sense, i.e. for the movement of goods.
In addition to technical aspects, economic aspects must also be considered, such as the possibilities and special design rules for the implementation of mobile commerce applications, security aspects, the very special value chain in mobile commerce, business and revenue models, billing models and the various application areas of mobile commerce. In particular, value-added services mediated on the basis of SMS have been repeatedly discussed in public in recent years.
Implementation of Mobile Commerce Applications
With the development of the mobile Internet, in particular the introduction of 4G, 5G, new billing models and powerful end devices (smartphone) with more mature operating systems, the restrictions for mobile apps decreased significantly.

It turned out that mobile features such as location-based services were more likely to play a role in specialized applications (e.g., digital fleet management) than in the mass market at the time. The devices with advanced capabilities narrowed the gap between what can be used sensibly with mobile devices and what can be used with stationary devices.
Depending on the category and characteristics, interaction with the user can be realized via various mobile commerce relevant interfaces, such as interactive voice response, sending/receiving SMS or MMS, internet-based simple interaction, simple applications (using simple scripting languages)) and complex applications (using regular higher-level programming languages). In addition, a distinction is made between pull services, in which the user initiates the data transfer, and push services, in which the user is actively addressed. The general user preferences in the mobile commerce require fast applications that require little memory and can be operated intuitively with just a few keystrokes.
Nevertheless, a shop should evaluate whether an mobile commerce application is worthwhile for the specific case. For this purpose, reliable figures must be created with which a potential loss account can be created. On the one hand, the turnover of the shop in a certain period of time is required for the calculation. With the help of tools such as Google Analytics, different data about shop visitors can be determined. This includes information about the device category.

Mobile Business Process
Mobile business processes are business processes that contain mobile workstations or other mobile elements. The term is typically used in connection with the use of mobile electronic communication technologies and mobile devices to improve such business processes, see also mobile commerce.
The use of mobile technology in the company is often first considered from a technical point of view. The focus (although helpful) is not on the simple possibility of sending and receiving e-mails on the go. This view is easy to understand, but it does not provide a solution on its own.
