In this tutorial we will show you, how to create a shortcut to system restore point, so that you can set restore point just on a double click.

Create a shortcut to system restore or pin system restore to taskbar in Windows 7

Normally, to restore or create a restore point in Windows 7, you have to go to the System Restore tab from Start menu > Control Panel > System and Security > System, then have to click the System Restore link in the left pane.

Microsoft, by default, does not provide a shortcut to System Restore.

2. The trick is in this step! Type or copy and paste the location of the item:

then click Next and rename the Shortcut as System Restore or anything you want. Click OK.

3. A shortcut will be created on the desktop:

Browse to C: > Windows > System32 > imageres.dll and select the right icon:

Thank you very much. I have tried Visual Basic Script from other websites that did not work for me, but this works for me on Windows 7 64-bit.

Welcome and thanks Ronga for the kind feedback.

Visual Basic script to create shortcut to system restore point may be blocked by the system itself in Windows 7 64 bit OS (depends on previous log that is kept for malware / virus attack too!) to keep the security on. It appears to Windows 7, a suspicious malware is taking advantage to intrude in to the system.

We are glad to know you have enjoyed it.
