How to run Silverlight applications in Opera Browser

It Works for both 32 bit and 64 bit versions. Opera for Windows supports Silverlight. Unfortunately, most of the Silverlight applications check the browser version so Silverlight doesn’t start in Opera. When you click the “Install Silverlight” it redirects to Silverlight download page, and informs that the browser is not compatible.

I have checked this trick in Opera Version 10.60 ; it logically will work on later versions and back versions also.

Note: There is some difference between 32 bit and 64 bit method, and I have mentioned it where it differs. Please note that, the screenshots are of 64 bit version. I assume that, you have already installed and running Opera browser and have Silverlight installed for Internet Explorer.

Step 1

For 32 bit:
Copy all files and folders (Including DLL files) from “C:>Program Files>Microsoft Silverlight” to “C:>Program Files>Opera>program>plugins”

    For 64 bit:
Copy DLL files and folders (Including DLL files) from “C:>Program Files (x86)>Microsoft Silverlight” to “C:>Program Files(x86)>Opera>program>plugins”
    Here you start :

    Copy From:

    Paste to:

    Step 2

This Step is same for both versions.

Download this rar file and unzip the JavaScript file. Copy it to your User JavaScript directory: C:>Program Files>Opera>userjs . You may not have “Opera” folder and “userjs” folder there, in that case, just make a new folder and rename it to “Opera” (Exactly without quotes) and under that folder create a new folder and rename it to “userjs” (exactly, without quotes).

Either open a new tab or restart the browser to take effect. Open any webpage with complex silverlight app(to test it works fine):

It will work ! Here, it is fully functional !
