How to add an RSS feed in Windows Live Mail 2011

A regular visitor of our website has asked how he can add RSS feed in Windows Live mail 2011. So, here is a small tutorial on how to add any RSS feed in WLM 2011 under Windows 7 environment.

Firstly, open Windows Live Mail 2011 (WLM) from programs menu or clicking Start orb > typing “Mail” and clicking on the search result.

Windows Live Mail 2011 (WLM) will open. Click the blue colored Windows Live Mail button with downward arrow, Click options and then Feeds :

A new Windows will pop up, click the Add Feed button:

Enter the full url of the feed. For example, this website’s Feed Burner RSS  url is entered:

Click OK to proceed. The Feed’s name will be displayed. Set the frequency of update. This website is updated 8-12 hourly. It is better to set the frequency to one day. For very frequently updated websites, like a busy forum, you can set it to 15 minutes:

Click Close ; there is no OK button. Clicking close will save the changes. Click the RSS icon on the lower left corner to see your subscribed Feeds:

You will see the list of your subscribed Feeds on left sided pane. Clicking on the name will show the list of Feeds from the website. To go back to mail view, just click the Mail icon on lower left corner, just like you did to reach the RSS list.

    I’m hoping you can help me. I set up the feeds in Windows Live following the desktop instruction. I clicked SYNC. But there is still no Feeds button or folder on the Windows Live online. Atrre Feeds only available when you use the desktop version?
