Here is a trick to access your website’s ftp server from your browser in Windows 7, without using other software. Previously, we wrote on how to access ftp server from Windows 7 explorer without using any software; this time, we will show you an unique way to access your FTP server to upload, download or manage the server files from any browser. That means, to access your FTP server, you will not need installation of any third party software or do not have to use any Online FTP services.

Open any browser, any standard browser; Internet Explorer, Opera, Mozilla Firefox, Safari. On the address bar, type:

ftp://ftp.name_of_your_server.com

Change œname_of_your_server part to your server™s name and change the .com extension to others (.net, .org etc) if your domain™s name does not end with .com.

To give example, for our server, we should type ftp://ftp.thecustomizewindows.com :

Then hit Enter key from your keyboard. It will provoke a Window, which will ask for the server™s username and password. Fill the required fields. Hit Submit or similar button in the window (the above screen shot is of Opera Browser). After few seconds, all files and folders will show in the browser page:

    Use
http://thecustomizewindows.com/2011/03/access-ftp-server-from-windows-7-explorer-without-using-any-software/ this method as it is safer and faster. Most of the server on which our websites run, is configured not to upload anything via browser. Just copy / paste or simply drag to the desired folder.
