Cloud Computing : Are the users becoming more dependent?

We, the end users using more and more applications based on Cloud Computing technology. As we have written before, the end users either knowingly or unknowingly uses lots of applications everyday, which are actually based on Cloud Computing.

Why the question arising whether we are becoming more dependent on Cloud Computing?

As from the hyperlinked article on Cloud Computing above and from this article, we can definitely say, if the usage of Cloud Computing, from security point of view is not handled properly, it might be a devil tomorrow.

We use various Google Apps based on app engine, which are basically instances of Cloud Computing, this morning, as a rude awakening : one application was not accessible for few minutes. it might be OK as it is really not very much important app. But, think a minute deeply about the bigger enterprises, who are actually becoming more and more dependent on Cloud Computing : even for handling very sensitive information.

Understanding Problems with the Rules and Regulations for Cloud Computing

The major problem with Cloud Computing is that, the physical location of the data can not be preciously predicted, at least the technology available for the Public. For the Public : as, there are ongoing research on this aspect of Cloud Computing.

Unfortunately, it is very difficult to think that all the Countries in this World will follow a single, well formed guideline for Cloud Computing security issues within a coupe of years or so.

It is not about Cloud Computing, it is nothing about Technology. As happened with many other powerful technologies, it takes a big time implement the laws to block the loop holes. It is NOT that Country A is a non-co-operative Country.

Country A might take 2 years to pass a Bill to become a Law, it is as per their usual right guidelines based on the Constitution. It is NOT that they are not understanding the problems (whether Cloud Computing or any other thing). They need a time to really understand the situation or problems with a particular technology, for our discussion it is Cloud Computing.

Where is the problem with different laws regarding Cloud Computing?

The problem is with data theft or non deletion – an usual acceptable point for Cloud Computing.

If this situation happens with Cloud Computing, the sensitive internal information might escape to those server locations and hackers, who are always waiting for an opportunity will utilize it to the full.
