Custom Google Maps – How To Create Your Own Google Maps

Custom Google Maps can be customized according to your need. You can easily create your own Custom Google Maps within few clicks. As usually, it is free.
Furthermore, you can spice up your Custom Google Maps with Google Maps API to make it more beautiful. In order to create Custom Google Maps, you just need a Google account and if you want to use the maps API, you have to sign up for Google Codes.

How to create Custom Google Maps ?

Sign in to your Google account. Go to Google Maps by clicking here.

On the left sided pane, click Create Map :

Give it a name and add a description. In the example, I will create a map for our server’s location. Click the placemark icon and click to the position you want to show in Custom Google Maps. You can drag the placemark to edit at anytime in Custom Google Maps :

Save it. You can see, I have selected Public option from the “Privacy and sharing settings” radio button options. You can create private Custom Google Maps as well.

You can edit the text as HTML, change the pin icon, for example I have added our favicon. You can embed the map anywhere, you will get the iframe code on the right top of your custom Google Maps creation page. Here is ours :
