A. WHOIS search provides details about a domain – ?who owns it, when it was registered, when it will expire and which name servers are used for the domain

Q. How I will do a WHOIS search?

A. There are numerous free online tools to perform a WHOIS search, commonly used are whois.is, whois.com, domaintools.com etc.

Q. What is?locking? my domain name?
A.?Most registrar offer “lock” or a similar security measure to prevent unauthorized transfer of your domain name or name server. If domain lock is activated, one need to change it unlocked to use these features and after that, lock again.

A. It is the path that leads to your domain name and your server. Usually they are two, looks like – dns1.stabletransit.com and? dns2.stabletransit.com. Minimum two NS is required for proper pointing.

Q. What is mail server ?

A. It is? NS entry that makes it possible to use mail.(domainname.com) so that, for example – admin@thecustomizewindows.com can be used. It is a CNAME entry.

Q. Can I use fake / imaginary names on my WHOIS info ?

A. It is a criminal act and punishable under most country’s cyber law (s) as just like our real name, we can not fake our names.

Q. I do not want to show my personal info on? WHOIS !

A. There is a simple way to hide? personal info on? WHOIS, simply use the WHOIS privacy feature.

Q. To whom I will complain if there is any legal problem with a domain name ?

A. You can try to contact the domain owner first to resolve the issue, if the domain is on a server, point out its web host and let them know in a legal prototype letter and forward it to the domain register. Then if the problem is not solved, contact your lawyer to resolve the problem.

Q. My name Abhishek Ghosh. But another person is using abhishekghosh.com, what I can do ?

A. Great! My name is also? Abhishek Ghosh, as there is another? Abhishek Ghosh who is using? abhishekghosh.com, I registered? abhishekghosh.net for it and made a bit domain hack for pretty name – dr.abhishekghosh.net.

Q. But I am sure that the person who is using? abhishekghosh.net is not? Abhishek Ghosh !

A. The law is variable according to the importance of the name. If ? Abhishek Ghosh is a Doctor, Laywer or any well known professional and the website is trying to make others fool with suggestive content ?as if that original?Abhishek Ghosh has written, quite obviously it has more weighted towards a fowl play. Because users will search ?Abhishek Ghosh ?on the Internet for his phone number, email etc. for professional help which might extend to the purpose for saving one’s life.
