Input and Output (I/O) in Computing

Input and Output (I/O) of computer science is the interaction of an information system with other information systems and operations for reading-writing data. Inputs are signals (like keystrokes and commands) or data that the system receives outputs are sent by the system. In this article, we will discuss about Input and Output (I/O) in easy lucid language.

Basics of Input and Output (I/O)

Input and Output

In a program there are application data or other information from users like inputs or outputs. Input and Output (I/O) are important to the computer running a program interface. Thus only a reasonable use of the system is possible.
For the interaction between the user and the program external peripherals are available through the operating system  and other mechanical or electronic devices. This is necessary because there are many different protocols available and the devices in terms of word length can vary, and processing speed.

The methodology for software development is associated with Input and Output (I/O) varies depending on whether data or information from outside to the system or whether flow of data stored in the system and read should be modified or deleted.

Hardware and Software aspect of Input and Output (I/O)

The processor is associated with Input and Output (I/O) controller. These serve as an abstraction layer and from the CPU with easy commands. The devices themselves are directly connected via data, control and address buses. They contain buffers to cache queries and responses.

User input devices are usually keyboard, mouse and joystick. The output devices are monitor, printers and storage media.
The issue would then b, for example, power controllers, valve controllers, etc. In the field of control and measuring technology Input and Output (I/O) is also used. In software, one can distinguish the input in command line input in the program from keyboard, mouse or joystick.
