DSLR Versus Point and Shoot Digital Camera

DSLR Versus Point and Shoot Digital Camera becomes a matter of debate while your budget for buying a new digital camera is very closer to a entry level DSLR. Otherwise the question fully absurd simply because it is not the fact that both boxes takes photos. A further clarification is probably needed for the earlier article on Compact Digital Camera or DSLR as we can see some kind of confused comments.

DSLR Versus Point and Shoot Digital Camera : The Question Should Not Be Asked Unless

DSLR Versus Point and Shoot Digital Camera has no specific answer. One can not straightforwardly say DSLR is good or a a Point and Shoot is good. It is a matter of choice, matter of budget, matter of usage.

The old phrase It™s the photographer not the camera does not any position today in the context of DSLR Versus Point and Shoot Digital Camera. More you will invest more sophisticated instrument you will have. The basic reason is, the difference in Senor of the camera. When the phrase was said, traditional film was used, it was same for $1 camera and a $100 camera at that time. But it is also a matter of fact, the camera itself can not compose a photograph.

Coming back to some leading points to choose the answer somehow on the debated question DSLR Versus Point and Shoot Digital Camera. As Point and Shoot cameras are compact, it is not only suitable for simple snapping but certainly also suitable for ambitious photography. A clear advantage of Point and Shoot camera is from the small size and mobility of the relatively lower price.

It should be said that a digital SLR, DSLR in short, does not automatically take good photographs. A digital SLR does offer many possibilities, but you must also make use of this. This should at least know what is aperture, shutter speed and focal length are and especially how they are used. What brings the greatest technique, if you do not understand the approach ?

DSLR and Point and Shoot Digital Camera are two systems and both has advantages and disadvantages. To choose one of the two systems is not that easy. My personal advice is that you try both systems to fully appreciate so the features of each of the two. Until you have formed an accurate judgment, you will never get the answer of DSLR Versus Point and Shoot Digital Camera.

    Hi,

I read with interest the article “DSLR Versus Point and Shoot Digital Camera”.

I was expecting a straightforward technical discussion. What I found was a diplomatic joint statement!

It is true that only the camera does not bring out a great picture. The photographer has a hand to it (like a paint brush and an artist). Having said that, the more sophisticated a camera is, the more flexibility that it has, the more features (Tech. Specs.), the photographer has that much more area to explore. The fundamental point is that one must know how to use these.

So, to cut it short, if you are a novice, start with a point and shoot. Over time, you will graduate to a DSLR yourself!

It is like buying a sports car (useful if you know how to use it. Else, you could do with a Beetle).

    Hello Subra,

In a professional website we can not make a visitor’s decision but let him/her lead the way to check for multiple options, they will themselves find which is better to start with. Most youngsters today already are the users of a point of shoot camera – the camera on their mobile device.
