Cloud Computing at this Time of PRISM

Cloud Computing has been a concern with the rise of PRISM which ensures legal stealing of personal data, business data. Imperialism is not new but here are clever tricks. Understand what Richard Stallman says about Cloud Computing. Since the PRISM arrived, tension erased confidence in cloud services. This is, in our opinion in an irreversible trend and users must refrain themselves from using Software as a Service (SaaS). The Governments, which basically means few peoples are quite efficient to use any situation, just like we said in our previous article – Local Clouds, in this PRISM era is promoted or sometimes just said without any influence to confer more protection to privacy and security, you can read that article here.

Cloud Computing at this Time of PRISM : Look at IaaS and Good Provider

One must understand what is Cloud Computing Service Models. We can take the following models in relatively safer container :

  1. Infrastructure as a Service (or IaaS) from a good service provider
  2. Platform as a Service (or PaaS) is somewhat better, but service provider is quite important
  3. Private Cloud and Hybrid Cloud

Platform as a Service is quite bigger chapter, one must read any good detailed article, like the linked one for understanding this Platform as a Service (PaaS). For the most classic example, as you call it, the private cloud for security and integration is the best solution. Many companies are not ready to make a big switch to this platform perform and move all applications to the cloud, while also changing needed in SaaS. An appropriate risk assessment then falls often to the detrimental effects of the cloud, although its benefits are obvious. Here, the private cloud, usually with a clear focus on traditional business applications, a real alternative to running the previous model or outsourcing.

Cloud Computing at this Time of PRISM : The Privacy and Security

Cloud Computing at this Time of PRISM

Currently, most spending in IT therefore still carried out in the cloud environment of the IT departments. This is especially in case of IaaS, which is easy for quick entry into the cloud world. This infrastructure cloud services are then refined accordingly by the IT departments of the company. Hardly adjustments to the technical processes and the business processes carried out. Currently most can not achieve the desired flexibility, scalability and where appropriate, the costs savings. However, in the medium to long term, standardization and industrialization trend no longer reside in the corporate IT.

Security and Privacy are separate terminologies. One must need a comprehensive Cloud Security strategy for proper maintenance of privacy. Example is, this server, where we are serving the webpages needs security for hacking and other external attacks, that is the work of Rackspace Technical Team. But the privacy part is not required here, the maximum data that can be trapped which is beyond the control of Rackspace team – below the sea. What maximum info will be gathered is – when, which IP, which machine is logging to the server. We do not need to conceal it but we must assure that the ISP is not running a flaw to steal more data from our device.

Using Encryption, that is SSL/TLS for login part usually ensures full shielding of data / information – its quite costly to decrypt the encrypted data. So, using Cloud Computing at this Time of PRISM demands a user to think as if another group of hackers has been added. We should avoid Cloud Services from known dubious companies like Amazon. The bad part is, the reality is – Rackspace is good but gives practically no monetary reward for promoting but Amazon does so, in some way or the other. As ultimately all are dependent on money, the real truth takes longer time to reach to the innocent ears.
