Safely Connect Private Cloud and Public Cloud

Medium-sized companies can take advantage of efficient in house and external IT resources with the right mix of private cloud and public cloud solutions. Also, compliance and security standards should not be forgotten. Cloud computing is in the market since a long time. But all cloud is not the same cloud. In cloud computing related companies, classical IT services such as storage, computing power or application programs from the data centers to an external service provider can be distributed as needed (public cloud). An alternative way is to build a private cloud solution in the internal network : the private cloud . Due to security and fear of loss of control over data large set of companies prefer the private cloud in own data center.

Public Cloud Services Ensure More Capacity

A problem in the current security debate is with the term public cloud which is often equated with unsteady Service anywhere on the Internet. While rates for private customers and small businesses can be realized in fact mostly via the Internet, there are larger companies already have other options: A network operator can build the foundation base on its cloud infrastructure via MPLS or Ethernet link connectivity directly to the corporate network of the customer. This is much more efficient and safer than over the Internet direct connection.

Through such an architecture hybrid cloud solutions can be build to the highest requirements for data security and protection meet – because these aspects are in any way an issue when it comes to the cloud. Narrow limits also apply to the processing of personal data. A cloud solution that is not clearly defined, where the data is, it is out of the question. For compliance reasons, international companies should choose a provider with whom they can individually determine what data will be processed in the country but still, this is not a true solution – Local Clouds Offer Little Protection.

If this is ensured, resulting in a cost-effective and flexible hybrid model. Need of the companies for specific projects or applications, such as short-term and more IT intensive resources are available, it is relatively easy to switch from the public cloud. Another target group for the hybrid cloud which is expanding internationally, are the companies that operate their own data centers at its headquarters, they are internationally distributed but do not want to equip with additional own infrastructure.

The special challenge of a hybrid cloud solution is that, the private cloud and public cloud which must communicate and work together seamlessly to provide maximum efficiency. This enables communication between the private and hybrid cloud works smoothly, for example, the application programming interfaces (APIs) are addressed accordingly. They ensure that both sides can share with each other in order to respectively to provide the resources on demand. Hybrid cloud solutions just do not come off the shelf, but also require in advance a clear project work to ensure that all requirements for functionality and safety are met.

To Safely Connect Private Cloud and Public Cloud We Must Ensure Integration

Also the in-house IT must correspond seamlessly with the infrastructure of the provider. Latest survey showed that for three-quarters of the companies which are surveyed, the integration of their IT solutions into the cloud offering of a service provide is the most important requirement. To achieve this flexibility, cloud computing providers much cooperate with specialists in network and storage technology, enabling them to offer their customers a complete package. To reduce complexity and simplify the access to the cloud, companies such as Cisco has partnered with NetApp.
