The Problems Bloggers Face and How to Overcome Them

Owning domains and pro-grade blogs is like having real estate assets. A decade back, when I started this website, the competition in the content creation sphere was less than today. In 2001, it is not easy to start and maintain a blog keep earning $3000 or more per month. Essentially, earning money is never easy. A well earning from high-quality content demands not only time but also monetary investments. Blogging is a full-time job, at least at the beginning, requires soft skills and core skills. If I compare starting a blog today compared to a decade back, I can see several growing challenges.

Social/Personal Problems

Still, today, starting a professional blog is not counted as work to appreciate. In no country, it is easy to quit a full-time job and start investing behind a blog. Lack of support may distract from motivation. We will suggest you remain motivated by joining various online forums and groups which can positively help to keep motivated.
Not everyone’s personality is the same. There is no universal remedy that can help you. From my view, your peer group in real life will count blogs on technology, automobile, smartphone as “serious work”. Google and most other search engines will also treat you in the same manner.

Problems with creating high-quality content

After writing for several years, you can easily write an article of 1000 word length even when you are under time pressure. Simply write in the way you would naturally talk. These days, unless you spend dollars, it is difficult to gain attention on social networks. I have an article on Full Example of How to Write an SEO Friendly Content (Blog Post/Article), which can help you. I often find the Q&A sites effectively to get an idea around what real peoples want as answers.

Avoid copying ideas, instead get motivated by ideas

You can not run a blog decades after decades based on keyword research tools. The followers will want to watch that your blog has some unique ideas. For example, Detect Smartwatch With ESP32 on IBM Watson IoT Widget is an unique content. When you are a new blogger, try to use the screenshots of the steps to impress that your idea is tested by you. I noticed that the “proof of work” works well to retain the followers.

Avoid ditto copying ideas outside the basics. I have multiple guides on blinking LEDs with an Arduino. It is not that all the ideas were unique. For example, Independently Blink Multiple LED is not a fresh new idea. I have touched millis(), table-driven approach, and Finite-State Machine logic for connecting from the future articles on table-driven approach, and Finite-State Machine logic. Avoiding touching the theoretical part would not deliver a feel of uniqueness. Especially, the text content of technical guides often become too less. This can become harmful if the amount of code becomes too huge. If your blog is around coding, you can add some theories within the article.

Consistency of niche

You’ll notice that, on this website, we tend to rotate the topics. If we continuously produce articles on cloud computing, it will force the followers of digital photography to avoid the website. Also, if your website handles 4-5 sub-niches, that is fine but try to remain within a defined broader niche. For example, “technology” is our niche. We can talk about cloud computing, big data, Windows 10, VPN, coding, software development, WordPress development and so on BUT producing content on cooking, travel, spirituality would kill the purpose, confuse both the readers and the search engines.

Low income

I guess that low income is the sole reason behind the closure of many established websites. Revenue generation from blogs is a time taking task and depends on authority and traffic. After 3-4 years of blogging, you’ll likely face a bad patch of 1-2 years which will make you more matured. Overcoming the bad time is a difficult task and if you can overcome it, success is not far away. You can research different types of freelancing to bring some money.

Conclusion

Content creation is a good journey with a wonderful prospect with a success rate of 2% – 3%. Blogging is not a get-rich-quick scheme. You need a lot of patience before you start generating a stable high earning. If you can create a website like me, I can tell you that you’ll get enough money to enjoy some “basic luxuries”.
