The first result comes is of that Pirated Windows 7 logo!

How they are coming here?

After a rather muddled communication on Logos for Windows Vista, Microsoft  focused on the politics of unique logo for Windows 7. Good idea, but in doing so, the company took more time regarding the launch date of the official graphic logo. This gave the time to many “creative” person associated with crack / hack /piracy. Note that the logo is far the most common being the logo of Windows Vista with the letter 7 written over it. Yet it has spread like wildfire (yes I know made any expression), and has permanently positioned in the SERP of the search engines. So much so that even the official media sometimes get it wrong.

Two conclusions:

For products like Windows 7, everyone will understand the importance if the symbol is blatantly falsified.

The power of backlinks in SEO is really impressive: despite the presence of the official logo on the Microsoft Windows website, the logo is shown on the hundreds / thousands of blogs that takes precedence for the search engines!

I’m pretty sure that is not the official Windows 7 logo. The TM in the corner is the trademark for the “Start Button” icon that was created for Windows Vista, and continued with Windows 7.

I know this because Microsoft’s branding guidelines are NOT to obscure the Windows logo in any way. I also know this because I have a copy of the original logo from Jenny Lam, the former Microsoft employee who designed it, and her PSD file has the TM in it.
