When you make a choice to use a registry cleaner, there are some important questions you should ask yourself:
- Are you getting this from a reliable source?
- Is it a reputable program that will help me anyway?
- Why I need to use a Registry cleaner?
You can usually answer these questions by doing a little research on it. Microsoft directly says nothing about registry cleaners and Windows 7. Probably, as was officially said for Windows Vista, no Registry cleaner is needed to clean the Registry of Windows 7.
Even if you have decided to install and run a registry cleaner:
---
If the person actually weigh the advantages and disadvantages of any particular product, you are more than likely looking at an overall review, but at the same time if all you will find many simple “Hey this product is great! Buy now! “brief statements, then you may want to continue to look elsewhere for more information.
The reason for obtaining a copy of a cleaner registry from a trustworthy source because if you the get from certain sites there are chances to get infected from a virus or another program may come with what could harm your computer even more. In addition, bad quality product will also present a high risk of doing considerable damage to your machine by deleting the important registry key information that would otherwise be necessary to run Windows 7 smoothly. For this reason, be sure to select only those cleaners registry you know, otherwise you will run a high risk of being corrupted your machine even further in an attempt to improve its performance and your information potentially be permanently lost.
Regitry defrag:
Do not do it, unless you have a plan to format your Windows 7 PC.
We must mention, there are certain places in the Internet, where you will found a pop up is saying that your registry is corrupted and you must run (=buy) their registry cleaner (read crapware). These are potentially dangerous.
Some morally inclined webmasters directly promote them by inserting certain Javascripts in their websites.
Sometimes good online advertising companies promotes them (not pop up advertisements; simple click to see Advertisements); not knowing they are bad. Obviously they decline to advertise once they get any bad report against; but in the meantime, user may be a sufferer.
Conclusion:
Best way to clean your Windows 7 PC’s registry is to clean install or format it. To us asking “Will I buy registry cleaner?” is like “Will I buy the bottle of snake oil?”.
The registry registry cleaner is particularly difficult. So for those who are certainly not an professional of pc, usually do not attempt challenging into it without difficulty.
Nice being visiting your blog again, it’s been months for me personally. Well this article that i’ve been waited for such a long time. I need this article to complete my assignment inside the college, possesses same topic with your article. Thanks, great share.
Knew it! Thanks
Registry cleaners can actually be very helpful – and I’m sure they will find their place with windows 7, amongst the countless other types of repair software needed by users of microsoft products. However, as of yet, it is doubtful they are really needed for most windows 7 users. After a long period of time, especially if you are one that likes to download software and periodically go on delete sprees, the registry can become a little jumbled up. The trouble with registry cleaners is that they are very misleading. Unless you have a moderate understanding of the registry and system files for your OS, there is a very good chance that you will accidentally “break” your OS. I’ve tested a couple out of curiosity and found CCleaner to be pretty decent, Wise is a pretty good one too (not as thorough but safer). However, because I have not been running my windows 7 for very long, there were alot of file types I have yet to access and they were flagged for deletion, some of which were OS file types. The other two misfortunes I ran into were: my installshield was “broken” so I couldnt install anything using the windows installer, and my copy of Office 2010 was broke. A fresh Windows install fixed the problems. So to make a long story short – I highly do not recommend using a registry cleaner unless you have done some research first and have exhausted all other options to fixing the issue at hand [anti-virus, spyware, malware (a good freebie for this is malwarebytes). Actually if you want my honest recommendation – give linux a testdrive and see how you like one of the many distributions available (ubuntu is a good one, so is mint and opensuse). Much safer, faster and more stable – requires a bit of a learning curve though.
Problem is that, over 60% Windows 7 users (this is my day to day, face to face experience, percentage may vary :) ) think that running a scan with registry cleaner will solve all the problems out of of the box. These 60% users practically have little knowledge about Windows registry; they often check all the boxes (if there are some options in that software) and delete them. End result is getting a corrupted registry and seeking people in real world to “fix his / her computer.” That what you have already said : they need a bit research on it before usage.
I use Ubuntu and Open Suse both. Suse seems better for laptops (to me) ; while community is bigger (=better support).
For past few months I am using Macbook Pro. Practically, I use it 90% time now for personal usage. However, it is costly for many users; it is far far better to use Linux (any flavor) than using a pirated Windows 7 or users reactant to do regular virus, malware scans :)
The reason behind 90% Home users for Windows is only the OEM pre-installed PCs (with a lot of garbage softwares installed). I guess you will agree that most of the novice users have no knowledge about what is Linux, what is Mac or what is Windows. They need a computer and get in to these suddenly.
So, actually these peoples need an advice about OS before purchasing to have an idea what OS is better for him / her. People searches with “what computer / laptop to buy” and get reviews on Dell, HP-Compaq, Sony Windows 7 pre-installed laptops.
I am against the Windows forums those give a affiliate link saying “We recommended this registry cleaner” (You can see in most of the big forums; just below the header); those softwares are far inferior than CCleaner (the websites themselves are fishy ;) ) and those links fools innocent peoples.
I hope, this page will help some people to understand the condition.
Thank you very much for stopping by and writing :)
