The positive correlation between PageRank and site positioning in the SERP of Google does not exist.
We must break the myth that PageRank is not a valid indicator of what’s happening behind the scenes at Google. The penalties associated with PageRank or the evolution of PageRank have no direct effect on the ranking of sites in the SERP.
However, PageRank is still regarded as a quality indicator for publishers, advertisers and thousands of Web users.
PageRank is a strategic tool netlinking. Indeed, a good PageRank (from 4) helps to have a good traffic in the sense that it would easily make partnerships with sites to the positioning and significant traffic.
For unbelievers, the following list represents a clear, concise and precise the claim that PageRank does not directly affect the ranking of sites in the Google SERP. Do a search with a keyword. Check PageRank of each site.
In general we can clearly say that the order of Web pages in the Google SERP is not respective to the order of PageRank of each page. On a larger scale, that is to say, in the first 10 pages of Google, the ranking of Web pages do not always depend on the value of PageRank.
So how to reference a website? What we can say is that PageRank does not tell us anything about the ranking of a website / webpage.
The little green PageRank bar people keep in sidebar is an ineffective factor in improvement of traffic. But it gives a nice backlink to the PageRank bar provider website. Your loss their gain : PageRank is dead, long live PageRank!
So what is good about PageRank?
Some think it is good for the ego, others think it is useful for partnerships and trade links. The webmaster of a site with high PageRank is often ays kind of speech: “I have a PR of 6 so give me a link to my homepage from your Web page that has a PR of 2, and I will make a link return from one of my sites has a PR of 1”. If you offer a partnership for your site PR 0 to a PR5 site, the webmaster of the latter – with a haughty air – you will refuse the exchange. This type of behavior, we call the anti-Netlinking because the PageRank is emphasized at the expense of the theme of the site / web page, and other factors of SEO.
Google says: “PageRank is dead, PageRank is everything”
Today we are still surprised that the PageRank, a false importance index of a site still displayed. This gadget is only important in its strategy Netlinking is more than marketing. This does not eliminate adverse effects such as buying / selling links, “bargaining and negotiation” unnecessary, link exchanges difficult to develop small sites which results in a considerable loss of time, link exchanges unnecessary, non knowledge of other factors of SEO, etc.
Google also says that PageRank “is everything” . PageRank is alive and well, this “everything” might mean the Google using Internet. This is not the PageRank displayed on the small green bar that is important is but it is what that only Google knows.
