Virtual appliance fundamentally change the development, distribution and management of enterprise software. So-called Independent Software Vendors develop their applications only for a platform and reduce the cost and complexity of software development and product management. Software vendors expand their virtual appliance efficiently and safely in the OVF standard ( Open Virtualization Format ).

Software to use as a virtual appliance facilitates the installation and management. Business software departments also facilitates the configuration and ensure availability of essential, so the cost can be reduced with the resources and effort.
VMware Infrastructure verifies the integrity of the virtual appliance automatically during the loading process to ensure that the applications have not been modified maliciously or accidentally.
