HTML5 Mobile Video Adaptive Streaming on Cloud is possible with Kaltura Player for Device Detection and Device Support for Enterprise grade Streaming Video. In our just previous article on Rackspace Cloud Files and Flowplayer, we mentioned some methods. Thanks to excellent informative feedback from our reader (please read the comments on that webpage) and more information on jPlayer, Flowplayer and the issue of HTML5 Mobile Video Adaptive Streaming on Cloud. Apparently, HTML5 Mobile Video Adaptive Streaming on Cloud with Device Detection and Device Support will not work with Flowplayer – Flow will not Flow on iOS !
HTML5 Mobile Video Adaptive Streaming : The Background
As we got the official information :
“flv will not play in iOS anyway as Apple decided to not support Flash on mobile devices. The secure plugin is Flash only, so it will not work on iOS devices. Hence the ipad plugin will not work with it either, unless you give a non-secure ipadUrl(), which kinda defeats the purpose. To the best of our knowledge, there is no secure streaming in html5 without platform-specific tools.
---
The folioview plugin is Flash only (with the .ipad fallback) so it won™t work with Flowplayer 5, but of course you™re invited to ask them for a fp5 pluign.”
We thought there must be an solution. So we thought to look on Rackspace’s own website, they must be using a different solution for their own usage :

An excellent Branded Streaming Branded Player !

Definitely Kaltura Player suits with Rackspace, Rackspace never uses any B grade product – Kaltura Player’s customers include The World Bank, TMZ, Nestle and more. It gives the full control of DRM protection with API.
The option is probably quite costly for even a medium sized publisher. HTML5 does have technical things that needs quite higher than average knowledge, this is the major reason of some very stable WordPress Premium Theme Platform developers, not to adapt HTML5. With iOS it gets more difficult. The remaining free way is our money saving YouTube API. But you will need gdata client :
