Post specific widget with Semantic Markup for WordPress is a kind of template Plugin for more flexibility. You can create infobox like Wikipedia. This is a DIY kind of Plugin. By default it has only one Schema.org markup, others are kept left for your own usage. You can easily either edit the PHP part of the Plugin or run any PHP, HTML etc. snippets from the GUI of WordPress Widgets page. This is quite powerful plugin if properly used. There are lot of these kind of Plugins now, but with the ongoing battle of various Social Networks, a typical WordPress user faces many issues to add new things, this kind of Post specific widget will practically never need any update from us, you can update yourself !

As we said our philosophy before – both in Rich Pins Pinterest for WordPress and Showing Open Graph Protocol og image, og description Properly – its better to modify a plugin rather than finding a new plugin. Obviously, this Post Specific Widget with Semantic Markup for WordPress Plugin is free but you need to know the the basics :

  1. Semantic Web : Brief Overview of Relevant Recommendations
  2. Schema.org for WordPress

For an user who has zero idea or not interested to learn a bit, this plugin will serve no purpose. This is deliberately made a bland Plugin to avoid Google’s avoidance of mass used methods by us. Your usage will be unique. Obviously, from recipe to Medical markups all can be added. It works fine with Genesis Framework and Default theme. This is a nice way to create a Info widget for Single Post like Wikipedia. The things you need to do is :

So, basically a post becoming a good landing page – that is the basic unique thing for MediaWiki’s software – the added infobox. We can easily get the title, post description, category, tag, thumbnail etc. using WordPress functions – is not it? You can add a nice rich Author info box too.

Post Specific Widget : The Resources

You can go to GitHub and download the Plugin from here (link to Source Code) – https://github.com/AbhishekGhosh/post-info-widget-wordpress. There is a button to download the zip file on that page. You can download and install it. You will get some idea how to fetch the Title, description things from another plugin in my Github repo.
